"One of the things that made this campaign work is that we grew from 2 NGOs to thousands in 90 countries, working together in common cause to ban landmines… It was the actions together of all of us that brought about that change. In my view what we need today is people getting up and taking action…" -- Jody Williams, 1997 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and ICBL Ambassador.

Send a lobbying letter: in December 2009 the Obama Administration announced it had initiated a comprehensive review of U.S. landmine policy to determine whether the U.S. will join the Mine Ban Treaty. Send a lobbying letter to call on the U.S. to join the treaty! Use the United States Campaign to Ban Landmines' online letter-writing tool or Human Rights Watch's online letter-writing tool. You can also write to one of the other countries that have not joined the treaty. Urge them to get on board right away! Or write to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of treaty members states and urge them to lobby the non-member states to join. Read our writing tips and sample letters.

Consider making a donation: support the ICBL online or by mail. Every bit counts! Help us ensure that as many states as possible ban landmines, address the needs of victims and fully respect their rights, clear contaminated land and destroy their stockpiled weapons, making sure they will never claim the lives or limbs of innocent civilians.
