2014 is set to be a crucial year for the International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) and the Mine Ban Treaty with theThird Review Conference taking place June 23-27. In advance of the conference, ICBL has issued aCompletion Challenge to the mine ban community, to finish the work under the Treaty as quickly as possible, and not later than 10 years after the Review Conference.

ICBL will be working closely with our global network of campaigners and in close cooperation with our key partners – States, ICRC and the UN – to help translate the Completion Challenge into tangible successes on the ground. You can see here, photos of mine ban community members preparing for the challenge during the Thirteenth Meeting of States Parties to the Mine Ban Treaty (13MSP) and preparatory meeting of the Third Review Conference which took place December 2013 in Geneva. To find out more about the Completion Challenge and ICBL’s plans for achieving a mine-free world, see the 2014 Campaign Action Plan.
