Treaty in Detail
Sometimes referred to as the Ottawa Convention, the Mine Ban Treaty is officially titled: the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction. It was adopted in 1997 and it entered into force on 1 March 1999.
- Maputo Action Plan (MAP) 2014–2019. MAP was adopted by States Parties of the Mine Ban Treaty at the Third Review Conference in 2014. It aims to provide states with a roadmap for achieving the treaty obligations.
- Maputo +15 is a political declaration that was adopted by States Parties at the Third Review Conference of the Mine Ban Treaty in 2014.
- Treaty Machinery. At the Third Review Conference in 2014, States Parties decided to bring changes into machinary and meeting programme of the Mine Ban Treaty.
